Faculty

One of the most important components of a successful educational program is the quality of its faculty. THE Aesthetic Show™ offers a world-class faculty comprised of thought leaders and leading practitioners in the aesthetic community. These seasoned professionals have both the strong theoretical understanding and practical experience to assist our attendees in the development of new ideas and services for their patients.

Various medical professionals in the fields of cosmetic dermatology, plastic surgery, otolaryngology, oculoplastic surgery, general surgery and practice management provide education in a wide variety of didactic, live patient and interactive formats.

THE Aesthetic Show also provides real world examples and case studies to help attendees in all stages of an aesthetic practice. A collection of business leaders both in and outside of the aesthetic community will present and discuss various best practices as well as financial and general practice management topics to help aesthetic medical practices and their staff reach the next level of success.

 
Shino Bay Aguilera, D.O.
Dr. Aguilera is a cosmetic dermatologist, dermatologic surgeon and a cosmetic laser expert. Dr. Aguilera is dual board certified with a fellowship in dermatology from the American College of Osteopathic Dermatology. He is a clinical researcher, publisher and an assistant professor of dermatology for five universities including: University of Miami (Miami, Fla.), NOVA University (Ft. Lauderdale, Fla.), Lake Erie College of Osteopathic Medicine (Brandenton, Fla.) Suncoast University (Clearwater, Fla.) and Universidad del Rosario in Bogata, Colombia. Dr. Aguilera travels the world teaching physicians the proper use of the newest laser advances and cosmetic techniques, and participates in FDA clinical trial studies. The Shino Bay Cosmetic Dermatology & Laser Institute has been officially certified as one of the world's only prestigious "Laser Centers of Excellence" and advanced physician training center for the entire U.S. and Latin America. Dr. Aguilera is a resource for several television stations including CBS, NBC, MegaTV and Telemundo, as well as the prestigious New Beauty magazine.
 
Syed Amiry, M.D.
Dr. Amiry is a board certified, leading expert in the field of dermatology with over seven years experience in cosmetic dermatology. He received his medical degree from AT Still University (Kirksville, Mo.), and completed his dermatology residency at Geisinger Health Systems (Danville, Pa.). Dr. Amiry also completed specialized training in cosmetic, laser and skin cancer surgery (Mohs) under the guidance of a world renowned team of dermatologists. He also practiced at the Murad Medical Group (Los Angeles, Calif.). Dr. Amiry currently serves on the adjunct clinical faculty at Pikeville College School of Osteopathic Medicine (Pikeville, Ky.) and is a trainer for Alma Lasers.
 
Richard A. Baxter, M.D.
Dr. Baxter is a board certified plastic surgeon who has been practicing in the Seattle area for 20 years. In 2009 he was voted “Western Washington’s Favorite Plastic Surgeon” by viewers of the KING-5 television show Evening Magazine. He is a past president of the Washington Society of Plastic Surgeons, and the Northwest Society of Plastic Surgeons. He has pioneered several new techniques and published extensively. Dr. Baxter has been recognized as an expert in plastic surgery and anti-aging by local and national broadcast media, and has been featured in Allure, Elle, WebMD, Spa Magazine, AOL and New Beauty. He is a clinical educator for several cosmetic surgery and non-surgical products and procedures. A former clinical faculty member of the University of Washington School of Medicine, he now devotes his time to his busy private practice and clinical research. Dr. Baxter is also the author of the award-winning book Age Gets Better with Wine: New Science for a Healthier, Better, and Longer Life, which reveals the sometimes controversial developments in anti-aging science based on wine.
 

Risha Bellomo, M.P.A.S., P.A.-C

Ms. Bellomo has over 18 years of healthcare experience and specializes in medical and cosmetic dermatology, with a background in primary care and emergency medicine. She earned her Bachelor's Degree in microbiology with a minor in chemistry at the University of Florida, and went on to earn a Master’s Degree as a physician assistant through the College of Medicine at the University of Florida. Ms. Bellomo is currently employed with Advanced Dermatology in Orlando, Fla., where she has worked alongside Matt Leavitt, M.D., for the last ten years. She is the Central Florida representative and co-founder of the Florida Society of Dermatology Physician Assistants.  She is the cosmetic columnist for the Journal of Dermatology Physician Assistants and the PA columnist for Advance for NPs and PAs. Ms. Bellomo is a faculty preceptor for Nova Southeastern University and University of Florida, and she is also the president and founder of Practical Medical Solutions, LLC and Bellomo Consulting, Inc.

 
Andre Berger, M.D.

Dr. Berger is the driving force behind Rejuvalife Vitality Institute, a cosmetic and anti-aging medical practice located in Beverly Hills, Calif. With the strong belief that a balance of cosmetic procedures, anti-aging medicine, traditional medicine, and complementary therapies are the keys to our emotional, physical and mental well-being, Dr. Berger is at the forefront of this emerging and innovative specialty. Dr. Berger received his Medical Degree from University of Ottawa and completed his residency training at McGill University in internal medicine and clinical pharmacology. Dr. Berger has been board certified in emergency medicine for 20 years, and is a diplomate of the American Board of Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine, as well as the American Board of Holistic Medicine. He is also an active member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, the American Academy of Anti-Aging and Regenerative Medicine, the American Holistic Medical Association, the American College of Nutrition, the American Academy of Clinical Endocrinologists, and the American Association of Bariatric Physicians. Dr. Berger is the author of the forthcoming book, Younger Than Yesterday: The Beverly Hills Anti-Aging Prescription, and several other publications. He has been published in prestigious medical journals, interviewed by news media, a guest speaker at numerous international aesthetic congresses and trade shows, and an instructor and innovator for many cutting-edge cosmetic procedures.

 
Mark Berman, M.D., F.A.C.S
Dr. Berman practices cosmetic surgery in the West Los Angeles area and is the immediate past president of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. Although he graduated from University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), he is currently a clinical instructor in facial plastic surgery at the University of Southern California. Dr. Berman is well known for his work with fat grafting, particularly to restore the three-dimensional volume of the aging face. He is also the first surgeon to use Gore-Tex materials in cosmetic surgery, not only pioneering their use in facial surgery, but he also holds a patent on an e-PTFE breast implant device – the Pocket Protector® – used to repair or prevent capsule contracture in breast augmentation. Dr. Berman has authored a novel titled Substance of Abuse which is a controversial sexy thriller that suggests a solution to the war on drugs.
 
Patrick Bitter, Jr., M.D.

Patrick Bitter Jr., M.D., is a dermatologist certified by the American Board of Dermatology. He received his medical degree and dermatology training at Stanford University School of Medicine. Since 1986, Dr. Bitter, Jr., has maintained a private practice specializing in dermatology, skin cancer surgery and cosmetic surgery in Los Gatos and Beverly Hills, Calif. Dr. Bitter, Jr. is the developer of the FotoFacial™ and PhotoFacial™ procedures that use pulsed light to treat rosacea, flushing, facial redness and pigment.

 
Martin Braun, M.D.
Dr. Braun has the distinction of being the first physician in Canada to perform laser hair removal over 14 years ago, and he currently injects more BOTOX than any other practitioner in Canada. Dr. Braun received his medical degree from the University of British Columbia and completed his core surgical training at Vancouver General Hospital (Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada). Dr. Braun has devoted his practice exclusively to cosmetic rejuvenation procedures since 1996 at the Vancouver Laser and Skin Care Center.
 
Gregory Buford, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Buford is a board certified plastic surgeon currently practicing in Denver, Colo. As a graduate of the Baker / Stuzin / Baker Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship in Miami, he is one of the few cosmetic plastic surgeons in the Rocky Mountain region to have completed formal post-graduate training. Dr. Buford holds higher degrees from the Georgetown University School of Medicine and the University of California, San Diego where he received his major in literature with an emphasis in writing. His practice is limited exclusively to aesthetic medicine with an emphasis on breast enhancement, body contouring, and minimally invasive facial rejuvenation. Due to this extensive background, he currently participates on a number of advisory councils for organizations such as Mentor Corporation and Allergan, Inc. In addition, he is the lead author on the plastic surgery practice management text, Beauty and the Business, which was released in January of 2010, as well as the founder of “be”, one of the leading online consumer resources for expert information in the health / beauty / wellness space.
 
Joseph S. Cervone, MD
In private practice since 1986, Dr. Cervone is a member of the teaching staff of the Department of Medicine at St. Barnabas Medical Center (Livingston, N.J.). Based in West Orange, New Jersey, he is also a faculty member of the Department of Family Medicine at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey (UMDNJ) and a fellow of the American Society of Laser Medicine and Surgery. In 2004, Dr. Cervone received a certificate from the Masters Program in Laser and Intense Pulsed Light Education. He trained clinically in Boston with nationally known professors of dermatology at Harvard (Cambridge, Mass.), Yale (New Haven, Conn.), and Dartmouth (Hanover, N.H.) who authored many of the texts for laser skin care and photo rejuvenation.
 
Adil Ceydeli, M.D., M.S.
Dr. Ceydeli obtained a Master of Science degree in Anatomy, Cell Biology and Injury Sciences at the University of Medicine & Dentistry of New Jersey. His extensive research on the basic science of cell biology and scarless wound healing has won numerous awards, and his graduation thesis was published in the surgical basic science journal, Shock. Dr. Ceydeli began his general surgery training at New York Methodist Hospital. Upon completion of his training, he started his plastic and reconstructive surgery residency at the Medical College of Georgia. After finishing his plastic surgery training, Dr. Ceydeli also completed a prestigious aesthetic fellowship with Robert Flowers, M.D., one of the most innovative aesthetic plastic surgeons of the century. Dr. Ceydeli was included in the 2007 Guide to America's Top Plastic Surgeons by Consumers' Research Council of America, and in multiple editions of Who's Who® in America. He was named one of the emerging leaders in healthcare and medicine. He is double board certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and the American Board of Surgery, and currently a full time attending plastic surgeon in Panama City, Fla.
 
Greg Chernoff, M.D. F.R.C.S.
Dr. Chernoff is a triple board certified aesthetic facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon. His practice is dedicated exclusively to aesthetic plastic surgery, hair replacement surgery and cosmetic laser therapy. His laser research has been instrumental in developing and refining accepted laser techniques now utilized by physicians worldwide. He is a frequent guest on national and international news shows such as Dateline NBC, ABC and CBS Nightly News, the BBC Worldnews, Newsweek and W magazines. Dr. Chernoff continues to be a leading innovator of advanced laser technology.
 
Kristin Comella
Kristin Comella has over 12 years of experience in corporate entities with expertise in regenerative medicine, training and education, research, product development and senior management. Ms. Comella has been a member of the Bioheart Inc., senior management team since 2004 and is currently serving as the CSO. Bioheart is a publically traded company focusing on the discovery, development and commercialization of autologous cell therapies for the treatment of chronic and acute heart damage and peripheral vascular disease. Ms. Comella was appointed as Bioheart’s vice president of R&D and corporate development in December 2008. Since joining Bioheart in September 2004, she has played a major role in managing the product development, manufacturing and quality systems. In addition, Ms. Comella is co-founder and CEO of Stemlogix, LLC and CSO of the Ageless Regenerative Institute. The Ageless and Stemlogix programs involve education, training, technology and support in delivering regenerative medicine to clinicians and veterinarians.  Ms. Comella has over ten years of cell culturing experience including building and managing the stem cell laboratory at Tulane University's Center for Gene Therapy. She also developed stem cell therapies for osteoarthritis at Osiris Therapeutics. Ms. Comella holds an M.S. in chemical engineering from The Ohio State University and a B.S. in chemical engineering from the University of South Florida.
 
Angelo Cuzalina, M.D., D.D.S.
Dr. Cuzalina was elected as the president of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery for 2011. He began his post-graduate education at Oklahoma State University (Stilwater, Okla.), graduating with a degree in physiology and went on to obtain a medical degree from the University of Alabama (Tuscaloosa, Ala.) and a dental degree from Baylor University (Waco, Texas). Dr. Cuzalina completed an oral and maxillofacial surgery residency followed by a full body cosmetic surgery fellowship where his mentors were former presidents of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, and he is board certified by the American Board of Cosmetic Surgery as well as the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He has been in private practice, exclusive to cosmetic surgery, in Tulsa, Oklahoma since 1998 where he runs an AAAHC accredited surgery center with full time anesthesia and nursing staff along with overnight courtesy guest suites. Dr. Cuzalina hosts and is program chairman for several AACS and ACCME accredited live cosmetic surgery workshops every year and is the chairman and program director for an AACS Accredited Cosmetic Surgery Fellowship Program in full body and facial cosmetic surgery. As an author, Dr. Cuzalina has written key articles and book chapters in major medical publications on a variety of cosmetic surgery topics to include facial, breast and body procedures. He is routinely asked to lecture across the United States and internationally and has given well over 100 lectures across the globe relating to cosmetic surgery topics.
 
Robert Daniels, Ph.D.
Dr. Daniels, chief executive officer of Elastagen Pty. Ltd., has successfully guided the clinical stage of Elastatherapy™ treatments from its early research phase to the current clinical development. Prior to joining Elastagen, Dr. Daniels spent the previous ten years working across a broad range of the life science industry including contract research, medical devices and therapeutics. He has been successful in raising capital, managing in- and out- licensing programs, joint venture creation and managing product development programs. Dr. Daniels experience includes University spin-outs and he has worked in the U.K., Australia and Hong Kong. During his research career Dr. Daniels had a particular focus on developmental biology and regenerative medicine, working in the fields of embryology, stem cells and biomaterials. Dr. Daniels earned his Ph.D. from University College London and a master's degree in entrepreneurship and innovation from the Australian Graduate School of Entrepreneurship.
 
Jason B. Diamond, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Diamond is a board certified facial plastic and reconstructive surgeon. He is also a board certified head and neck surgeon, otolaryngologist and fellow of the American College of Surgeons, who received his medical degree from the University of Rochester School of Medicine (Rochester, N.Y.). After completing his five-year residency, Dr. Diamond chose to hone his skills by learning from top experts in the field. He spent two years seeking out the leading facial plastic surgeons worldwide, studying and operating with them to learn their secrets and perfect his craft. This self-motivated training enabled Dr. Diamond to master an extensive variety of facial enhancement techniques and his broad base of knowledge, combined with his sense of artistry, allows him to tailor his approach to each individual patient. Nedra Dodds, M.D.
Dr. Dodds received her medical degree with honors from Meharry Medical College in Nashville, Tenn. She has fused integrative methods of multi-disciplinary surgical and minimally invasive procedures, with a multi-cultural approach. These methods, combined with the evidence-based practice of administering nutritional supplements, bio-identical hormones and customized lifestyle changes have helped to reverse the typical signs of aging. Dr. Dodds' practice: Opulence Aesthetic Medicine won the Best Skin Care category in 2008, 2009 and 2010 for the Atlanta Metro Area, and Dr. Dodds was also voted one of the best physicians in Atlanta by Jezebel Magazine. Her practice has been featured on television including the Bravo network.
 
Tracy L. Drumm
Tracy Drumm, Vice President of IF Marketing (Chicago, Ill.), specializes in the development of unique and innovative marketing tools for aesthetic practices around the world. She is known for her unique, creative and easy-to-implement marketing strategies that have proven to deliver explosive results. Tracy has co-authored two books, THRIVE: Pearls to Prosper in Any Economy and Keys to Success: Marketing & Practice Management. Additionally, she regularly contributes editorial content to leading trade publications.
 

Bryan Edelstein
Mr. Edelstein is director of strategic partnerships and consulting at Everyday Health, Inc., one of the largest companies in Internet health and wellness. Their sites attract over 30 million visitors per month. Mr. Edelstein is a seasoned entrepreneur specializing in sales management, marketing, media and business operations. He has founded, owned and operated multiple successful businesses, both online and offline. Prior to joining Everyday Health, Inc., Mr. Edelstein published one of the five leading independent college / young professional publications in the country, while also creating the largest national network of affiliated independent youth publications in the U.S. Mr. Edelstein has identified and developed core strategies that the most successful physicians have used to attract more patients, multiply referrals, fill their waiting rooms and dramatically increase their take-home income – all while saving countless hours each month.

 
Stephen W. Eubanks, M.D.
Dr. Eubanks is a board certified dermatologist who has practiced in the Denver, Colo. area since 1984. He received his medical degree from the University of Oklahoma (Norman, Okla.) and his dermatology training from Fitzsimons Army Medical Center in Denver. He began his dermatology career at the University Park Medical Clinic and established the Laser Center at University Park in 1989. When the University Park site closed, Dr. Eubanks helped establish the Dermatology & Laser Center at Harvard Park. Dr. Eubanks is an assistant clinical professor at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center (Boulder, Colo.). Dr. Eubanks has a long-standing full service dermatology practice that includes skin cancer surgery, standard dermatology care, cosmetic dermatology and comprehensive experience in skin laser surgery. The laser surgery includes the one of the states first vascular laser surgery centers that treats children with vascular birthmarks, adults with facial blood vessels and abnormal leg veins and scars and stretch marks.
 
Amy M. Fowler, M.D.
Dr. Fowler is an assistant professor of ophthalmology at the University of North Carolina (Chapel Hill, N.C.) and is certified by the American Board of Ophthalmology. She completed her undergraduate degree at Duke University (Durham, N.C.) and received her medical degree from UNC School of Medicine in Chapel Hill. Following an internal medicine internship at Moses Cone Hospital (Greensboro, N.C.), she completed her residency in ophthalmology at the Duke Eye Center. She then completed a prestigious three year ASOPRS fellowship in ophthalmic plastic and reconstructive surgery at UNC under the tutelage of Jonathan Dutton, M.D., Ph.D. Dr. Fowler’s clinical interests include; the surgical repair of eyelid malpositions (ptosis, entropion, ectropion, etc.) eyelid tumors, eyelid and eyebrow reconstruction following Mohs surgery, brow and forehead lifts, eyelid trauma and reconstruction, lacrimal drainage dysfunction, dry eye, blepharospasm and hemifacial spasm, and facial rejuvenation utilizing a combination of surgery, BOTOX® Cosmetic from Allergan (Irvine, Calif.) and dermal fillers such as Radiesse® and Juvederm® (Allergan).
 
Dana Fox
Dana has more than 25 years of experience in the areas of marketing, sales, customer service, and team building. She is recognized as one of the leading experts in strategic marketing and execution in the cosmetic medical field in both traditional and Internet marketing and is president of Strategic Edge Partners. She is an internationally known speaker, seminar leader and author. Her most recent work, A Brand Apart: A Guide to Successfully Marketing Your Plastic Surgery Practice, was commissioned by the American Society of Plastic Surgeons in 2008. Other accomplishments include numerous articles on marketing, team building, and customer service. Dana's expertise in all facets of cosmetic practice building has led to professional alliances, training seminars and consulting relationships with such groups as: the American Society of Plastic Surgery, Canadian Society of Plastic Surgeons, and Australian Society of Plastic Surgeons. Partnering with the best marketing and internet-savvy professionals in the field (writers, graphic designers, internet marketing specialists), her company provides a full spectrum of marketing services to medical practices and their suppliers.
 

Stewart Gandolf
Mr. Gandolf is one of America's most experienced healthcare marketing experts. He has written for dozens of publications including THE Aesthetic Guide. He has also spoken at hundreds of venues in the U.S. and abroad. He has marketed over 1,500 clients including private practices, hospitals and Fortune 500 corporations. He is also co-founder of Healthcare Success Strategies, a national medical and aesthetic marketing firm.

 

Kathy Gaughran
Ms. Gaughran, a senior marketing strategist and strategic planning specialist, has over 23 years of marketing experience, with over 4,000 practices and other healthcare organizations, including strategic planning, creative development, implementation and consulting. She also has over 18 years as a specialist in aesthetic practices and is a five-time award-winner for excellence in strategic planning. She has guided hundreds of practices with annual revenues well over $10 million and with annual marketing budgets up to $900K. She personally planned media for over 1,500 practices and has extensive experience with both print and broadcast. Ms. Gaughran has contributed over 100 articles for healthcare trade publications and personally developed scores of innovative new strategies. She has extensive experience in marketing analysis, strategy selection, strategic plan creation, positioning / USP, media research and placement. She has successfully transitioned multiple practices from a low reimbursement insurance base to a more profitable cash patient profile. She has trained physicians and their staff on effective conversion techniques and tracking protocols and has identified and implemented profitable external marketing strategies.

 
Dore J. Gilbert, M.D.
In practice since 1979, Dr. Gilbert is a dermatologist, consultant, teacher and sought after speaker of laser, light and radiofrequency solutions for aging skin, rosacea and acne. Dr. Gilbert is the hands-on medical director of Newport Dermatology and Laser Associates in Newport Beach, Calif.
 
Michael H. Gold, M.D.
Dr. Gold is the founder of Gold Skin Care Center, Advanced Aesthetics Medical Spa, The Laser and Rejuvenation Center and Tennessee Clinical Research Center located in Nashville, Tenn. He is clinical assistant professor at Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and School of Nursing (Nashville, Tenn.), visiting professor of dermatology for Huashan Hospital, Fudan University (Shanghai, China 11/2006) and visiting professor of dermatology at No. One Hospital of China Medical University (Shenyang, China 11/2008). Dr. Gold is a board certified dermatologist / dermasurgeon who oversees the various facets of the Center’s operations, a combination of medical and surgical dermatology, cosmetic dermatology, aesthetic services and research endeavors. He is a member of various editorial boards, works as an associate editor with the majority of dermatology journals and is the author of over 300 published scientific articles, fifteen textbook chapters and editor of two textbooks on Photodynamic Therapy and Global PDT. Dr. Gold is an active member of many of the leading dermatology and laser specialty societies and is the president of the Tennessee Society for Laser Medicine and Surgery and treasurer of the American Society of Photodynamic Therapy.
 
Richard M. Goldfarb, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Goldfarb graduated with top honors in surgery from the Finch University of Health Sciences, The University of Chicago Medical School (Chicago, Ill.). He completed his surgical training at Northeastern Ohio College of Medicine (Rootstown, Ohio) and completed additional training in cosmetic surgery in the department of plastic surgery at the University of Pennsylvania (Philadelphia, Pa.). He also trained at prestigious Yale University (New Haven, Conn.) and he has 20 years of surgical experience, including liposuction and laser lipolysis. Dr. Goldfarb pioneered the technique to combine Silhouette Lift with fat transfer and Selphyl® for total facial rejuvenation (“The Goldfarb Procedure”). He has performed more than 120 Selphyl® procedures and has trained over 25 physicians worldwide. Dr. Goldfarb is board certified and a fellow of the American College of Surgeons as well as a member of the American Academy of Cosmetic Physicians and the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery. Dr. Goldfarb’s primary practice is the Center for SmartLipo and SmartSkin in Langhorne, Pa.
 
Miles Graivier, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Graivier of North Atlanta Plastic Surgery (Roswell, Ga.) is a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons (ASPS) and certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery. Dr. Graivier has authored numerous scientific papers on dermal fillers as well as other subjects. He also pioneered the use of wire subcision as a tool to correct lines, folds and scars. Dr. Graivier has been interviewed numerous times by CNN, FOX and ABC News, as well as magazines including: Allure, Vogue, Italian Vogue, More and New Beauty.
 
Warren Tracy Hankins, M.D., F.A.C.S.
Dr. Hankins has been practicing in Las Vegas, Nev. since 2004, and is chief of plastic surgery at Sunrise Hospital. He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and a member of the American Society of Plastic Surgeons. Dr. Hankins completed his medical training at Indiana University (Bloomington, Ind.) and his undergraduate training at Davidson College (Davidson, N.C.). He received broad training at the Grand Rapids program, where he worked closely with a premier breast surgeon. Dr. Hankins is also well-versed in cutting-edge cosmetic surgery techniques and is a frequent guest on television shows and networks.
 
Per Hedén, M.D.
Dr. Hedén completed medical training in Stockholm, Sweden at the Karolinska Institute and entered his plastic surgery training program in 1978. He was subsequently one of the driving forces in establishing microsurgery in the region and this led to the first microsurgical operation in Stockholm, performed in 1981. After completing his plastic surgery training in 1982, he held a plastic surgery position in Australia and subsequently pursued plastic surgery research in the United States; first in Springfield, Illinois and later at Harvard University (Boston, Mass). In 1991 he founded and is now chairman of Akademikliniken (Stockholm, Sweden), Europe’s largest private plastic surgery hospital where more than 5,000 procedures are performed per year. Dr Hedén has published more than 50 scientific papers, written a number of textbook chapters in international plastic surgical textbooks and is regularly called upon to comment on plastic surgery issues in daily newspapers and weekly magazines both on the national and international media scene. Dr. Ross attended Mississippi State University (Mississippi State, Miss.) where he graduated summa cum laude with a B.S. in physics. He obtained his medical degree from the Tulane University School of Medicine (New Orleans, La.) where he was a junior year inductee into Alpha Omega Alpha. In 1992 he completed a three-year dermatology residency at the National Naval Medical Center in Bethesda, Md. In 1994 he was the first Navy-sponsored fellow in Photomedicine and Lasers at Massachusetts General Hospital. His special interests are laser skin resurfacing, fractional laser applications, photodynamic therapy, non-ablative skin remodeling, laser treatment of leg veins, laser treatment of acne and laser hair reduction in darker skin types. He is the author of over 75 articles and seven book chapters.
 
Berthold Rzany, M.D., Sc.M.
Professor Rzany is head of the Division of Evidence-Based Medicine (dEBM) and C3-Professor of Evidence-Based Medicine in Dermatology at the Charité-Universitätsmedizin (Berlin, Germany). Prior to taking up this chair, he was consultant dermatologist at the Medical School Mannheim, University of Heidelberg, Germany. He earned a Master of Science (Sc.M.) in Clinical Epidemiology at Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore, Md.) and is the author of several well recognized books and many publications on aesthetic medicine. Professor Rzany’s current interests include the development of evidence based guidelines, running a registry for rare adverse reactions to injectable fillers (e.g. the Injectable Filler Safety-Study) and setting up controlled clinical trials for the interventions of aesthetic medicine. The main thrust of his research is in aesthetic medicine, particularly botulinum toxin type A, hyaluronic acid and other fillers.

Nathan Uebelhoer, D.O.
After completing medical school at the University of New England, College of Osteopathic Medicine Dr. Uebelhoer went to the Naval Medical Center San Diego for internship and residency training. Following dermatology residency and board certification by the American Board of Dermatology, he returned to Boston to complete a fellowship in Cosmetic and Laser Surgery at SkinCare Physicians of Chestnut Hill. Sabine Zenker, M.D.
Dr. Zenker is a renowned German dermatologist, international speaker and medical advisor. She received her medical degree in October 1995 at the Ludwig-Maximilians-Universität München (Munich, Germany), LMU and was board certified in dermatology in April 2003 in Munich. Dr. Zenker dedicates her daily work to general dermatology as well as to aesthetic dermatology including relaxing, filling and volumizing therapies, skin resurfacing, skin remodelling, skin regeneration and stimulation as well as topical and oral skin care. Edward M. Zimmerman, M.D.
Dr. Zimmerman graduated with departmental honors in biology from The Johns Hopkins University (Baltimore, Md.) and has a master’s degree in physiology from Georgetown University (Washington, D.C.). He received his medical degree from The George Washington University School of Medicine and Health Sciences, after which he completed a three year residency in family medicine in Beaver, Pennsylvania, with a heavy emphasis on surgical procedures, emergency room and urgent care medicine.
